Tutoring iconThe Academic Achievement Center Tutoring Services is a free tutoring service to all students taking courses at K-State. We tutor in large and small groups to accommodate the need for tutoring. Tutors are students who have succeeded academically in their coursework and have chosen to assist their peers. Trained tutors help facilitate the learning process with their tutees instead of teaching content or providing answers. Tutoring focuses on the success of the learning process as a whole, not just the end result.

          Drop-In Tutoring (Face-to-Face)

Drop-in tutoring is on-demand help for you in our popular courses. With drop-in, there is no need to schedule in advance, and sessions are hosted in different locations across campus to best serve you.

Why drop-in tutoring? No appointment needed. Multiple locations. Short or long sessions.

          Appointment Tutoring (Face-to-Face and Virtual)

Appointment tutoring is scheduled 50-minute small-group sessions in a wide variety of courses. Many students find it beneficial to meet with the same tutor repeatedly to get the most out of the service.

Why appointment tutoring? Dedicated time. More courses covered. Smaller groups.

How does Tutoring Support Student Success?

          • Aids in the development of a student’s ability to learn by asking engaging questions, provide challenge alongside support, and teach students the skills they need to succeed.
          • Provides excellent learning opportunities to K-State students in all entry-level courses, introductory courses into majors/programs, and courses that have high DFW (Drop/Fail/Withdrawal) percentages.

Tutoring Services start the second week of courses, ends the last Friday of courses, and is closed during all university holidays and breaks.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us by visiting us in Holtz Hall, emailing us at achievement@ksu.edu or calling us at 785-532-5703.
